Dr.Todd Harris – “Writer/Poet” – “Watching Sunday’s Ships Pass By”

Sunday’s ships share seabirds’ sky

Winds’ cupped hands fly mast-top flags

Bobbing blue waves bubble lullabies

Navigating westward wave-crashed crags

Dawn’s drafts starch sogged sagging sails

Cuing not where sea-fog flocks

Silence captaining sunup’s swale

Clouds suspending southern shower’s stocks

Faint mists clear amidships’ mast

Loudly sung stout rigging’s clap

Polish transfigures dark portholes’ cast

Wandered winds wresting mainsails’ flap

Amongst whitewashed canvas strung stories high

One smallish ship curves quietly ’round

Deft fishermen trawling slowly slowly by

Westwinds awakening water’s worldly verse

Polycrylic-shined wood reflecting brown

Memory’s wish posts grandfather’s spirit steering tall aboard

Mottled brow dampening morning’s straw-woven crown

Long stowed lines freshly cast

Flashing luring lures creation

Family then fishing we could converse rejoined

Sharing Sunday til every Sunday’s sun set down

Any always awakened waters

Versify my invitation

I invited the world to come and experience a truly new 21st century approach to the arts of music and poetry, and to hear, read, and experience the new sounds of their resulting synthesis online.A Subito grant this year birthed my new website about 21st Century Modulation, and the site is now live. The site contains 17 original sonephonic works based on my theory of sonology.I present a completely new contextual fabric as well as a new methodology for affecting contextual change through new modulatory structures and analysis in both the sonetic world of music and the phonetic world of poetry.
